Welcome to the Dept of Mechanical Engineering - Design and Project Exhibition
Our annual Design and Project Exhibition gives our students an opportunity to showcase their group and individual project work. Each year the Exhibition is opened by the Joseph Black Lecture which is given by an eminent engineering expert.
The two main student elements are the extensive range of Group Design and Business Projects, covering general mechanical projects, racing submarine, Aerospace and Formula student.
The other element are the diverse range of individual engineering projects, covering for example aerodynamics, product design, environmental driven projects, manufacturing, biomedical and biomimetic activity, engineering process research, automotive research and so on.
The projects are frequently linked to the Department's core research activities.
