The Focus On box rotates all the messages of the week. The first Focus On message is the only one actually added on the page itself. Update the text and the URL it links to using the information in the spreadsheet. You will also need to select a picture to accompany each message. Source pictures either from FotoWeb or Z  These are managed using structured content items.

  1. Create the focus on files

Within these folders there will be plain pages of html script, with each page being a single message. Insert the links and copy you need into this script, and update the dates to match the folder you created. An example of what the script should look like is below:

Once you have added all the messages you need edit the sourcecode of the folder's index page, which will link to the Focus On box on the page. An example of what the script should look like is below

    1. on.html to title.html where the title is just a short identifier of the focus on, e.g. exams.html, work-experience.html
  1. Edit the new files and add the information:
    1. Link - the link to the page
    2. Title - the text that overlays the image
    3. Image - the background image
      1. alt text is pulled from the title property on the image
      2. Image location can be typed in, or image can be selected via the gallery button
  2. Publish the folder containing the new focus ons
  3. Edit /first-year-ug/focuson/

    1. Add your focus ons to the list in the correct position - if only a DefaultFocusOn is set and no other focus ons the image cycling will automatically be disabled
  2. Publish focus-on-list.html

Note that in focus-on-list.html the focus ons can be rearranged, but the DefaultFocusOn cannot be moved.

This should be done at end of week in ready for publishing the page the next Monday morning.
